Livestock Scale Weigh Bar Replacement Cables – 5-Pin Male Connectors

These replacement cables are designed for use with Gold livestock weigh bars and the MTI 500 WB scale system. Both feature durable 5-pin round male connectors for a secure fit and dependable signal transmission. Each cable serves a different purpose in your livestock weighing setup — one connects the indicator to the weigh bars, while the other connects the two weigh bars together.

Available Cable Options

Type Length Connection Function
Short Weigh Bar Cable 105" (8.75 feet) 5-pin round male connectors on both ends Connects the two weigh bars together
Long Indicator Cable 16 feet 5-pin round male connectors on both ends Connects the indicator to the weigh bars (MTI 500 WB compatible)

The short weigh bar cable links the two weigh bars to ensure synchronized weighing, while the 16-foot cable connects the bars to the indicator, providing the flexibility and reach needed for easy setup and operation. Both cables are built for durability and consistent performance in demanding livestock environments.

For connecting the two weigh bars together, choose the short weigh bar cable. For linking the indicator to the bars, select the 16-foot cable.

The Chute Scale Weigh Bar does include the digital indicator and all the components necessary to start weighing right away. Just attach it to your chute or platform and you're ready to go.

The temperature limitation (14 degrees F) is based on the lower limit of the display (LCD ? Liquid Crystal Display) to reliably perform in the environment. The liquid in the LCD is where the problem arises. An option might be to build a small box for the indicator/display to provide some measure of shelter. If it is really cold and if you have access to A/C power you might want to build the shelter a bit larger and make room for and include a small incandescent light bulb. The wattage of the bulb would be dependent on the outside ambient temperature and the proximity of the bulb to the housing on the indicator/display. The other problem could arise from the batteries if you are not connected to D/C power. If available I would suggest a lithium battery instead of alkaline as they (lithium) will perform much better at sub-freezing temperatures. Additionally the temperature may affect the performance of the load cells. Accordingly I would encourage you to ensure that the Sense lines are connected if available.

The bars are designed to be mounted directly to the bottom of the chute and can be left there. They may be washed down from the top, but it's not recommended that high pressure water be used to clean them. They are very durable built for outdoor use.

I am semi-familiar with cattlemax software. I believe that it will work but additional research should be done to verify this. Our scale has an RS232 output on it that can be continuously streaming or sent on demand (by push of the print button). Ask Cattlemax if they can accept an RS232 input. If they need more details, ask them to call me at 401.566.4767. Chris

We do carry the a/c power adapter, item #AC Power Adapter - MTI500WB for $32.50. It is listed on under the scale itself as a part.

The manual is available on our product page for the weigh bars. Please copy and paste the following link into your browser to access the manual links: www.barnworld.com/sa/p/MTI500-WB_Livestock_Scale_System.htm If you have any trouble, please let me know and I'll forward a pdf for your reference. The leveling feet with the rubber pads are $15.60 each for the MTI-500WB and have been added as an option to the website.

We do sell just the cables for the MTI-500 weigh bars. There are two different cables for the weigh bars. There is the 105" cable which connects the two weigh bars together. It is male on both ends, 5 pin round. It's item number: MTI500WB-SC. The other cable connects the indicator to the weigh bars. It is 200", male on both ends, 5 pin round and is item number: MTI500WB-LC. You may enter the item numbers in the search box, or go to the livestock scales and find them listed under the weigh bars themselves. Shipping is included in the price and if I can help at all, please let me know. Thank you, Robert Moore Sales@BarnWorld.com 720.238.2190

Hello and thank you for your interest. We don't carry a 3 load bar system as stock, but we could create one for you needs. It would be a permanent solution unlike the portable weigh bars. If that's something you'd be interested in, please forward the weight and dimension of the chute and we'll take a look at designing one for you. Thank you, Robert Moore Sales@BarnWorld.com 720.238.2190

Thank you for your weigh bar inquiry. The weigh bar bar batteries typically last 3 years or more with regular use. There is an auto-shutoff feature that is adjustable so you can determine how frequently the until turns off with no use. That will affect how long the battery will hold it`s charge, but a single charge may last 1-2 years with no use. The weigh bars will measure to the pound. If there`s anything I can help with, please let me know and please note that shipping is included in this spring special price.

The digital indicator is equipped with an RS232 serial output signal. There is a terminal strip inside the indicator where you would connect the Rx (receive); Tx (transmit); and Grd (Ground) wires. You have to have a DB9 connection on your computer to connect the other end of the serial cable unless you are very familiar with configuring serial protocol connections. DB9 is a 9 pin serial form factor which is commonly found on desktop computers. It is also found on some laptops but not as common as it once was on laptops (everything is USB now). You can find a USB to DB9 converter and try to convert from DB9 to USB but my experience with converters has been that some will work and some will not.

There are mounting tabs on each end of the weigh bars for mounting to chutes or platforms. You can see them more clearly through the pdf link on the main product page or by going to the pdf throught this address: http://www.barnworld.com/WB500_Advantage.pdfIf you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know. Thank you, Rob Sales@BarnWorld.com (720) 238-2190.

While in the setup mode, scroll to F16, then scroll down once using the zero key to enter the zero calibration menu. Make sure there is no weight on the scale and press the zero key to zero out the displayed value. Press the NET/GROSS key to save the zero point value. If you have any trouble, please let me know and I can send a manual to you. Thanks, Rob Sales@BarnWorld.com (720) 238-2190.

Yes we do. You may view and order them just below the listing for the weigh bars themselves. We have the 105" and 200" cables, but please verify yours will accept cables that are male on both ends and are 5 pin round.
