These large, 20-pound flaps ship in an 8" x 8" x 48" box with UPS and are difficult to ship individually. We can fit (2) flaps in a single box for much more economical shipping rates, and WE RECOMMEND ORDERING (2) to minimize shipping costs.
Replacement Cover for the Ground Mineral Feeder
This kit replaces the 41-inch flap and listed mounting components on the compatible Sioux Steel ground mineral feeder. Replacing a worn or damaged cover can help restore the feeder’s covered feeding area while retaining a serviceable base. The orange feeder base and complete feeder are not included.
The main flap is listed at 3/8 inch thick and weighs approximately 20 pounds. The complete replacement kit is listed at 24 pounds, including its associated components. No replacement pin is included.

Replacement Flap and Protective Discs

How the Protective Discs Help
As cattle lift the main cover, it bends around its mounting point. The two 10-inch protective discs help distribute that repeated bending over a wider area. They are designed to reduce localized stress and creasing, rather than guarantee that the flap cannot tear or wear out.
If you need mounting components without the main cover, compare the separate mineral feeder flap hardware kit before ordering.

Check Your Existing Feeder
Compare the base, center mounting arrangement and parts diagram with your feeder before selecting a replacement. The manufacturer describes the current kit as compatible with its older ground feeder base, but the kit does not supply a replacement pin. If your center hardware is missing or damaged, confirm the additional parts required before ordering.

Compatible Feeder Reference Photos
The following pictures show the feeder assembled, with the flap raised and with the flap removed. They illustrate the feeder configuration; this product is the replacement flap kit, not the complete feeder.

Routine Flap and Hardware Checks
Inspect the main flap around the center mounting area and look for splits, creases or worn edges. Check that the protective discs and mounting hardware are present and correctly arranged. Replacing the cover will not repair a cracked base or damaged center mounting hardware.
Keep the feeding area clean and check the condition of stored minerals during routine livestock checks. A cover helps shelter the feeding compartments, but it does not eliminate the need to inspect for moisture, debris or wear.

Shipping and Ordering
The long shipping box makes a single flap relatively costly to ship. As noted above, two flaps can fit in one box, so ordering two together can improve shipping economy. Contact Barn World with your quantity and delivery location if you would like help comparing the shipping options.
