Acrylic Hoof Repair 2 Pack

A 2 pack will make 2 to 4 pads or do 2 major resections - Product yield varies with size of repair and size of hoof.

Kit Includes:
1 - 118 ml MMA Liquid
1 - 180 g Powder
2 - Mixing Cups / Mixing Sticks

The powder and liquid materials can be mixed as need based on the size of the repair. The liquid has a shelf life of 2 years and the powder has no expiration when kept dry.

Instructions for Various Applications
QUARTER CRACK MIXING & APPLICATION
INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Clean crack with hoof knife or by using a Dremel tool to open the crack.
2. Rasp and sand surrounding hoof surface.
3. Mix HOOF-it Acrylic to a stiff putty-like mixture (1 part liquid to 2 parts powder).
4. Fill in the crack(s) using spatula and/or your hands (wet hands in soapy water).
5. Press HOOF-it Acrylic material into the crack, as needed.
6. Let the repaired patch dry for approx. 2-4 min. depending on outside temperature (hot = fast / cold = slower dry time).
7. After patch has hardened, rasp and sand area. (Optional) Apply light protective coat of HOOF-it Acrylic by mixing a small amount. Use a brush to paint over the patch and surrounding hoof area to seal hoof.
   NOTE: Integrating and applying fiberglass cloth with HOOF-it Acrylic will further strengthen and enhance this repair patch application.

MISSING HOOF WALL INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Rasp and clean hoof surface.
2. Mix 1 part liquid to 2 parts powder.
3. Apply HOOF-it Acrylic mixture into the missing area(s), cracks or the entire hoof. Use wet hands or spatula (gloves optional) to spread Hoof-it Acrylic mixture over the entire hoof surface.
4. Mold and sculpt HOOF-it Acrylic mixture onto hoof until desired coverage is achieved.
5. After 2-4 minutes, depending on outside temperature, nail on shoe.
6. Let the HOOF-it Acrylic material set before returning horse to pasture or stall.

PAD MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Thoroughly clean the sole of hoof, removing all debris and ensure the hoof is dry.
2. Mix HOOF-it Acrylic powder with liquid in the measuring / mixing cup to a pourable honey-like consistency (2 parts powder to 1.5 parts liquid).
3. Pour half the HOOF-it Acrylic mixture onto the hoof sole.
4. Using the applicator stick and wet gloves, press the HOOF-it Acrylic resin onto sole, forming a seal where the shoe and sole meet.
5. Now pour the remaining HOOF-it Acrylic mixture to fill the rest of the sole area.
6. Set the hoof down on a clean surface and allow the HOOF-it Acrylic pad to cure for approx. 2 min.

The HOOF-it Acrylic patch or pad can be removed at any time with a hoof pick or by softening the HOOF-it Acrylic with a little dab of acetone if necessary. NOTE: When the weather is hotter than 75 degrees F, add more liquid to thin the mixture to prevent premature setting of the acrylic.

Note: Use damp, soapy hands or gloves when handling or molding the acrylic during the curing and drying period.

Basic Precautions for Acrylic Liquid: Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged inhalation of highly concentrated vapors. May cause sensitization with skin contact. Handle with gloves or soapy damp hands and work in well ventilated areas.

FIRST AID If the acrylic liquid is swallowed drink large quantities of water and call physician immediately. In case of eye contact, rinse with clear water. If irritation persists, contact a physician. If breathing is affected, get fresh air. Seek medical attention for persistent problem with breathing.
