Cattle
Guards
Our
cattle guards allow easy access to farm and ranch land by eliminating the
need for gates. Cattle guards give open access but keep livestock inside.
All cattle guards are constructed with heavy wall steel pipe and extra thick
steel channel. All ends are capped to prevent rust. Wings and boxed are
available with all sizes. Custom sizes are available. All cattle guards
come standard with a gray enamel finish.

The boxed style is designed to sit on flat ground. Gravel underlayment recommended for drainage. |

All cattle guards can withstand the weight of full tractor-trailer loads. |

Based on availability of material, these cattle guards are constructed using either 9 pieces of 4-1/2" pipe with an approximate gap of 4" between each pipe or with 11 pieces of 3-1/2" pipe. Pipe size may be specified with a custom order at extra cost, please call for custom quote. |

All cattle guards made with 3-1/2" pipe are 6 feet wide by 11-1/2" tall. |

All cattle guards made with 4-1/2" pipe are 6 feet wide by 12-1/2" tall. |
|
There is no difference in strength between the boxed and the flat styles. |
|
All guards weigh about 100 Lbs. per foot (a 10' Guard weighs about 1,000 Lbs.). Add approximately 8 Lbs. per foot for boxed guards and about another 200 Lbs. total for winged guards. |
|
To use for deer, you may need to place two guards in tandem so you have 12 feet of protection instead of 6 feet. Guards are easily bolted together. |
|
We can custom build a single 12 foot width guard, but shipping is very expensive (overwidth). It is far more economical to bolt two 6 foot wide guards together. |
|
Customers have reported success in keeping deer out with a single, 6 foot wide guard. |

Note: You must have equipment available to unload the cattle guard from the delivery vehicle when it arrives. The delivery truck will require you to unload the cattle guard with a loader or fork lift or some other means upon delivery. |

Note with regard to dimensions: Cattle guards are NOT built to exact dimensions. Sizes may vary by as much as several inches. Adding the removable box option will add about 7" to the total length and width of the cattle guard. For example, a 12 foot guard will be about 12'-7". |
