| QUESTION: I am using these weighted boots in place of weighted shoes to give my fillies feet a rest for the winter. She hasnt had toe weights on for awhile should i start off with half the weights first and add gradually to avoid pulling any muscles in the shoulder..?? |
| ANSWER: No they aren't that heavy. |
|
| QUESTION: I have bought some weighted bell boots to help my TWH gait smoother, but they keep rubbing sores on her feet......any suggestions? |
| ANSWER: The only thing I can tell you is, they are probably the wrong size. |
|
| QUESTION: This product comes in Small, Medium and Large - how do I determine which size is correct for my horse? |
| ANSWER: I ALREADY ANSWERED THIS. MEASURE HEIGHT AND BOTTOM DIAMETER. |
|
| QUESTION: how do I measure my horse for the correct size boots? |
| ANSWER: MEASURE HEIGHT BY BOTTOM DIAMETER |

| QUESTION: I have a 5 year old arab gelding who suffered a fracture of the humerus this winter. he has healed the fracture, but of course the muscles in his shoulder have atrophied from lack of use. He is not convinced that he can walk on that leg yet and often hops on the other foot. I think a weighted boot on the affected foot will help him regain muscle in that shoulder. I understand these boots do not cover the bottom of the hoof. If that is correct I think i could use a pair. please let me know if they are on the upper surface only. Where do the weights go in the boot? Have been doing some physical therapy since he has been able to bear a bit of weight on it. He is improving, but the muscle needs to come back before he will be much better.
thanks - karen wendt |
| ANSWER: You would have to check with your vet, to see if he thinks it would be OK. The boots do not cover the bottom of the hoof. You can postion the weights where ever you want them to be. |
|
| QUESTION: do you sale just the weights for the weighted bell boots |
| ANSWER: Yes, we sell individual 5 oz. lead bar weights. |
|
| QUESTION: How high will the boots make the horses hoof go? |
| ANSWER: NO ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION. DEPENDS ON THE HORSE AND HOW HE IS TRAINED. |
|
| QUESTION: my twh feet are a total mess, i have to let him go bare foot for a while to get some growth in order for him to even be able to wear shoes again, he needs weight in the front feet, can these be used for him after his first barefoot trim which he will be getting today? i'm afraid that he is going to go lame after the trim, he is a x-show horse and has always wore shoes, all his life, he is 11 years old, i need to know all about these shoes, if this will protect his feet, and how long he can wear them at a time, thanks, |
| ANSWER: He can wear them as long as you would like him to, but I do not understand why he needs the weights. The bells only wrap around the hoof obviously and do not protect the bottom of this hooves. |
