ANSWER:  The HP-B2D is powered by 2 D-cell batteries it powers 1 mile of wire (absolute perfect condidtions) or 1/4 acre of 2 sprand polytape. at 10,000 volts open line - 670 volts @500 ohms (the catalog states 1/2 acre of 4 strand) I'd say if the horse gets his nose snapped, it'll teach him to respect it.
