A noncontagious infectious disease of primarily young birds.
This environmentally borne disease is caused by damp, dirty litter and filthy pen conditions.
It does not spread from bird-to-bird.
Signs of illness are: dry, dirty, ruffled, feathers; decreased appetite, depression, diarrhea, and death.
Birds become pale and anemic, followed by dirty feathers and pasting of manure around the vent area.
Dosage: 1/4 tsp. per gallon.
(NOT OK to eat eggs during treatment with these antibiotics.) |
