HOW WOULD COMPOSITE HORSESHOES HELP YOUR HORSES?
Lighter weight - benefits both stride and hoof.
Reduced concussion - by as much as 60% means fewer impact injuries.
Frog support -improves circulation and stimulates hoof growth.
Durability - Composite horseshoes are tough and last on average 6-8 weeks.
Increased traction - on all terrain which prevents injuries to your horse both under saddle and during turnout. Draft horses and all horses ridden on pavement perform far better when shod with composites.
  • Composite horseshoeing provides therapeutic benefits for chronic conditions such as ring bone, laminitis and navicular disease.
  • Traditional nail placement is easy due to the transparency of each horseshoe.
  • Lightweight (3-5 oz)
  • Extremely Durable
  • Shock Absorbing
  • Ideal for all surfaces
  • Easy to nail or glue

    HOOF-it® COMPOSITE SHOE DIRECTIONS:
    Nailing Directions
    1. Trim the hoof for balance.
    2. Rasp to level using hoof rasp.
    3. Use a gauge to ensure the correct hoof angle.
    4. Start fitting the HOOF-it® Composite Shoe. When choosing the correct size shoe for your horse, you might want the shoe to be somewhat larger than the hoof; the excess will be rasped off later (better a little larger than too small, and remember, you want to fit the shoe to the hoof, not the other way around). NOTE: to remove the toe clip, simply rasp it off.
    5. Use 2 or 4 nails (use standard nails) to nail the shoe in place (Less nails equal a healthier hoof!). NOTE: You can nail through the material or pre-drill holes – your choice.
    6. Rasp the excess shoe width off to custom fit the shoe to the hoof.
    7. Additional nails can be used if needed.
    8. Clinch the nails to apply the finishing touches. Cover the nail holes and the hoof with a protective coating of HOOF-it®. Ready to ride, stable or pasture.
Nailing suggestions are intended for trained farriers only. HOOF-it® Technologies bears no responsibility for injury associated with nailing practice.
    Gluing Directions
    1. Trim hoof to balance.
    2. Shape the composite shoe to the proper shape to fit the horse’s hoof.
    3. Rasp the hoof wall area where the glue will come in contact when the shoe is applied.
    4. Pay close attention not to touch the hoof wall with your hands anywhere the glue will be applied, to prevent any oil from the hands getting onto the hoof.
    5. Apply glue spacers to the shoe.
    6. Apply glue to the hoof-bearing surface of the shoe.
    7. Apply the shoe to the hoof and hold for 2 min. or until glue is set.
    8. After the glue is completely set, you may rasp hoof and glue smooth.
