| The Q&A on this Product |
|
|
| QUESTION: I am working on an application utilizing an existing slab, that will be 6" below the threshold of a new sliding entrance door. I would like to use 2" of blue board insulation and 2" Crete heat topped with 2" of concrete. The square footage is 1107sq ft. I would like to know if this is a workable plan and the pricing for Crete heat with freight.
|
| ANSWER: 3" Crete-Heat and 3" concrete would be better. XPS only has a 52% R-Value retention vs EPS with a 94% rating. |
|
| QUESTION: Is there any benefit except for better "R" value when this product is installed over 3/4 in blue board? Additionally, is a vapor barrier required when installed over gravel and partial existing slab, or is the barrier part of the panel itself? Thanks! |
| ANSWER: Blue Board only has a 52% R-Value retention when in contact with the ground. EPS has a 94% R-Value retention.
The vapor barrier is part of the panel. |
|
| QUESTION: I don't see any pictures of pex tubing. can you install pex tubing in these mats? |
| ANSWER: These panels are designed to hold pex tubing. Please see the pictures and the installation of the tubing on the product page. You may have to scroll down to see the pictures of the installation. The pex tubing is sold in 300' lengths and is shown on the radiant heating page. |

| QUESTION: what would cost be for 30 bags of 2" thick material (covers 1920 sq ft), shipped to 37854?
what would cost be for 20 bags of 1" thick material (covers 1920 sq ft), shipped to 37854? |
| ANSWER: Thank you for your interest. We will send you a quote shortly. |
|
| QUESTION: I`m in Troy, NY, adding a 200sqft addition. I`ll be pouring over an existing (cracked) slab. I can lpoir under as well as over the insulation, I have flexibility as to height.
What slab thickness do you suggest?
Where do I find info on proper thickness of crete-heat?
What are material/shipping charges? |
ANSWER: Thank you for your inquiry and patience. There isn`t an ideal slab thickness for using the Crete-Heat, but defer to your local building codes for an appropriate pour. The Crete-Heat comes in two thickness and offer different insulation r-ratings. The 2" is an R-10 and the 1" is an R-6.
If you`d like a shipping quote, please let me know which thickness you`d like and provide your shipping city and zip code and I`ll get a quote to you.
If you have any question, please let me know. Thanks, Rob Sales@BarnWorld.com (720) 238-2190 |
