| Barrier Boot |
The Barrier Boot is a temporary replacement for a lost shoe and protects the tender frog and sole. It allows the horse to walk unshod, protecting the hoof from cracks and chips. The simple pull-on fit allows for easy application in the field without tools. The Barrier Boot stays secure with a strong nylon adjustable strap without damaging the hoof wall. Sizes vary slightly from the Horse Boot. Please refer to sizing chart on order page or consult your farrier as the boot is sized like a horse shoe.

| The Q&A on this Product |
|
|
| QUESTION: I bought a pain of your boots a couple months ago. The farrier checked and said the size was correct. My horse oversteps with his rear foot and gets at least one boot off before I even leave the barn. Without protection, my horse gets hoof abscess after hoof abscess. Do you have any boots that are less likely to come off but offer the same protection? I liked the boots. They were easy to put on and take off. They just won't stay on.
Alex |
| ANSWER: The size you have, is probably too big. The barrier boot should fit snug. We don't have any other boot, except the horse boot, which is a the boot for medication. |
|
| QUESTION: My horse has an odd size due to being flat footed and growing lots of toe and little heel what size would you recommend? 4 1/2 wide and 6 long (to total foot) Thanks |
| ANSWER: Sorry, this foot size does not fit any of our boot sizes effectively. |
|
| QUESTION: The easy boots and boa boots are availble with gaiters to aid in comfort and retension. Is there such a product with the barrier boot or is it neccessary to have such a product for this boot? |
| ANSWER: We do not have gaitors and they are not necessary. |
|
| QUESTION: I currently own a pair of easy boots and they are extremely hard if not impossible to get on my horse. Are these boots easier to get on and off? |
| ANSWER: Much easier. |
|
| QUESTION: I have a miniature horse stallion that I drive on gravel roads, cattle trails, creeks and muddy areas. We go for about 2 hours at a time, with a lot of trotting. His feet are getting tender, but they are very small. I measured them at about 2 7/8-3" wide and 3-3 1/4" long. will your smallest boots fit snug enough to not rub him or come off? Are there inserts I could use? If they will work for us I would be so gratefull. Most other boots are too big for him or not sturdy enough. Thanks. |
| ANSWER: Our barrier boots would be too large. |
|
| QUESTION: I am looking for a boot for my horse due to muddy fields and reoccuring thrush problems....would these work to keep the mud out? Do you have a size that would fit 6 1/4" side to side width and 7 1/8" toe to ball? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks |

| ANSWER: I have no idea what hoof booties are. Please be more specific. |
|
| QUESTION: Do you have instructions or a video for putting on the barrier boot on the internet? |
| ANSWER: 1. Loosen buckle & strap so rear of boot opens up wide.
2. Slide hoof into boot. Boot needs to fit snugly on hoof.
3. Make sure center rear tab of boot goes inward against the heel bulb.
4. Pull strap tightly to secure boot on hoof.
5. Slide front edge of strap through rear open end of buckle. This keeps
buckle locked so it doesn't accidentally open.

Could she wear this boot when she is turned out? Does this boot seal the top (e.g., sand could not penetrate at the level of the coronary band)? Could she be ridden with these boots? Her shoe size is 1. I seem to understand that the size of these boots is calculated the same way shoes are. How do you calculate the size if the horse is already wearing shoes? In her case she has shoes but she has a large defect of the wall on the side. |
