| The Q&A on this Product |
| QUESTION: Does the feed it is holding need to be very dry? such as corn or oats? or can i put a textured feed in it? for example a mixture of corn, outs, soybeans, cottonseed hulls. |
| ANSWER: Like most companies, our bulk feed bins rate their capacities on 40# per cubic foot. Soybeans, high moisture corn, etc., are considered to be "non-free flowing material" so they are not warranted against that usage. Many do use them, however, adding hopper stiffners assists in the downward weight flow to the bin. |
| QUESTION: How much to ship to Tucson, AZ- will this hold 5 tons of hay pellets and does it have a slide open trap door on the bottom? |
| ANSWER: I would need your exact zip code to give you a true quote. The bin tonnage capacity is rated based upon 40# cu. ft capacity. You would need to ask the weight of your hay pellets. A 6 x 2 bin is rated for a 4.3 ton capacity on that 40# cu. ft rating…if you need 5 ton, you would need to look at a 6 x 3 (5.9 ton) or a 7 x 2 (6.7 ton). |
| QUESTION: What would freight cost me on the 6 x 2 model bin to Pratt, Kansas? |
| ANSWER: It would cost about $235 for the bin alone. If you add an auger, slide valve, ladder or other accessories, it would be a little more. |
| QUESTION: I need to Know what you mean by 1 row or 2 row and so on. What does that relate to on the feed bins |
| ANSWER: 1 row means there is 1 32" sidewall or 1 ring bolted to the taper hopper of that bulk bin
2 rows means there are 2 32" sidewalls or 2 rings bolted to the taper hopper of that bulk bin.
| QUESTION: Is there anything else I would need to use this to store corn meal or cow feed? Does it include the stand, etc.?
Does it come assembled? |
| ANSWER: In order to use a bulk feed bin to your best advantage, you would order the basic bin, a side ladder, and a bottom attachment to get the feed out of the bin such as a slide valve or boot unloader with an auger. |
