| QUESTION: do you have drawings for a cage to built around the scale? A cage is needed to weigh hogs! Like others have written, a cage is needed! If you had one available or drawings to build one, 4-H and FFA members/chapters would probably purchase more. |
| ANSWER: No, we do not have drawings for a cage. I know there are many local suppliers that can provide you with a cage. The scale would simply sit underneath the cage.
| QUESTION: Is there a cage available for this scale?
Shirlene Jones, NM Boys Ranch
| ANSWER: Their is no cage available for this scale at this time, however others have built their own around it. |
| QUESTION: How are you going to weigh a hog on scale with no side rails? Tough to do |
| ANSWER: This scale is put into alley ways or people build their own rails around the scale for hog weighing. |
| QUESTION: I was looking at the PS1000 and PS2000 scales. Can a cage, for sheep/goats/pigs, be built to attach to the platform? If it was bolted down, would you be able to just zero out the scale and weigh the animal? |
| ANSWER: Yes you can build a cage and attach to the bottom. However you would need to take the load cells out before you did this so that you would not damage them. You would also have to recalibrate and your maximum weighing capacity would decrease. You can build a cage around it and place the PS1000 in it like an alleyway. This is how some hog crate scales are made. |
