Note: You must have equipment available to unload the cattle guard from the delivery vehicle when it arrives. The delivery truck will require you to unload the cattle guard with a loader or fork lift or some other means upon delivery.

  • 14' Long X 6' Wide Flat Cattle Guard
  • Due to availability of pipe, cattle guards will be built with either 9 pieces of 4 1/2" outside diameter pipe, or 11 pieces of 3 1/2" OD pipe.
  • 12-1/2" tall
  • 8" X 11.5lb Channel Support Beams
  • Gray enamel finish
  • Pipe ends are capped with 12ga steel to prevent water from sitting in pipe
  • These cattle guards are fully welded and built to withstand the weight of a fully loaded tractor trailer.

    ANSWER:  No it would not.
    QUESTION:  i plan to span a 3 foot small ditch and put a footer on both sides of the cattle guard to bear loads. what is the load bearing capacity spanning this ditch. i may take a concrete truck across it at some time or another
    ANSWER:  With all of the beams on the ground the cattle guard will not have any problem handling the weight of any road legal vehicle. I do not think that it will have a problem with the 3' gap. I would recommend your footers to be poured extremly well. I think that the footers will collapse before the cattle guard. I do not have an axle to weight rating for the gaurd. I have never had an issue with the cattle guards that we buil collapsing, and we have sold several thousand of them. You will not be dissapointed with the construction of our cattle guards.     ANSWER:  A cattle guard will not stop a dog. You need a gate.
    QUESTION:  Rather than boxing out with concrete, can railroad ties be used?
    ANSWER:  I do not see why not, as long as they are sturdy. You can also buy the boxed cattle guard. That is probably the cheapest thing to do.

    ANSWER:  The best thing to do on pouring your inground box for it is to wait until the cattle guard arrives. A good cocrete person should not have any problems with this job. I would make sure that if you pour the box all the way around the cattle guard to be sure and leave a way for water to drain out of it.
