| The Q&A on this Product |
|
|
| QUESTION: what would the shipping charge be to be delivered to Dixon, Mt. 59831 |
| ANSWER: Shipping to a residence would be about $ 735.00. |
|
| QUESTION: What are the overall dimensions of the 14' boxed cattle guard? |
| ANSWER: 14' Long x 6' Wide |
|
| QUESTION: Looking to order the CG-14B (fourteen feet) How stable is the product. Would I need to have a center support. What weight of vechicle traffic can it bear. |
| ANSWER: This cattle guard can handle any vehicle that is legal to drive on the highway. All of the channel on the cattle guard needs to set flat on the ground. These are
very well built cattle guards. |
|
| QUESTION: Re. drainage. I am pricing up the box model and am concerned about it filling with water after a solid rain---does it rust out over time??--- (ps--we also have lots of mosquitoes in summer and try to avoid standing water)
At present, I have no ditch, only solid blacktop driveway (due for replacement) on flat bit of land. If we opt for box model, can it be place into dirt cutout? is it advisable (necessary) to place box on gravel base? |
| ANSWER: To prevent water and rust problems, the cattle guard needs to be installed
properly. You can set the boxed cattle guard above ground level and build your
road up to it. If you want to bury below the ground level you may want to have
concrete beams poured around it with a place for water to run out. If you do it this way you do not need the boxed guard because your concrete beams will keep dirt from filling in. This is probably the best way to do it, but probably the most expensive. It also allows you to pull it out easily for cleaning and repainting, wich will make the cattle guard last for many, many years. |
