| QUESTION: How much would it be to ship 2 ea. 12' long flat cattle guards to 96740 Makalei Hawaii? What would the depth be for a concrete box? Which model can withstand a 49800 lb fire truck? |
| ANSWER: Hi, all of our cattle guards can handle any commercial equipment or emergency equipment. To guarantee this to an inspecting authority, you must buy an HS20 certified guard, an HS20-CG-12-6. I highly recommend this CERTIFIED guard unless this is on private property and will not be inspected. The depth of these guards is 1 foot, but the concrete needed is a 6"x16" footer under each beam and a 6" x 16" concrete box all around the entire perimeter of the guard. Note that the guard does NOT sit on the perimeter box - it must be capable of removal for cleanout. The shipping cost for 2 of these guards is $2179.00 and you MUST have the equipment necessary to remove it from the truck on the receiveing end on demand. Thank you. |

| QUESTION: What are the overall dimensions of the guard?
What is the guard made of?
What is the shipping weight of the guard
What vehicle weight capacity will the guard support? |
| ANSWER: The cattle guard is going to be 12' in overall length x 6' wide. This could
very +/- 1".The guard will be made using 8" x 11.5 Channel for the support
beams. The pipe is going to be either 3 1/2" o.d. or 4 1/2"od, depending on
wich one is available at the time of order. There is no difference in the
strentgh of the two, but depending on wich one is used it will be either 12" or
13" tall. These guards are built to last and will handle any vehicle that is
legal to drive on the highway. I have never had an issue with one collapsing
because of to much weight on it. Shipping wieght will be around 1200lbs. |

| QUESTION: We have an existing cattle gaurd that is 12x8. We are stocking our ranch with several exotics and want to make sure they can't jump the cattle gaurd. What would be your sugestion on total width we should have? Also is the smaller pipe better for small hoofed animals? |
| ANSWER: I would reccomend at least 12' wide to keep them from trying to jump over it. I
think that the 3 1/2 inch pipe would be fine. I do not no that it would make any
difference as far as hoof size. |
|
| QUESTION: I have a 11 foot opening and many deer would 2 of these work? Do i dig a pit and use concrete block to support his or what would be the process |
| ANSWER: We can build two ll'X 6' Cattle guards and you can put them side by side.
Digging a pit and using concrete block will work fine. You will probably need
to go with the boxed cattle guards so that dirt and rock does not fall back
underneath the cattle guard. It will only need to be boxed on three sides. This
should work well for you. |
