Cattle Guard Details

This rated cattle guard is designed to accommodate a per axle load of 12 tons and is built with extra support for a thirty percent increase in the load-carrying capacity for additional safety. This particular crossing measures 10 feet across (the road) and may be ordered with optional wings and concrete footings. The foundations are delivered along with the guards and eliminate the need to pour concrete upon installation. The wings will keep your livestock from stepping around where the fence line connects to the guard itself.

The 'Texas Gate' has been a simple and effective physical barrier for decades, and best of all, it works without the need to open and close a gate! The convenience offered is alone worth the installation investment. These grids are made even easier to install with the optional precast concrete footings that can be delivered to your site, eliminating the need to pour cement. Simply set them in the ground and bolt the grid down to the J-bolts already in the cement to ensure a rock-solid crossing.


This guard is made with (7), 8" C-channel beams for an incredible support system and a 12-ton PER AXLE load-carrying capacity.

Cattle Guard Crossing with Wings

The wings attach to the side of the crossing and present a physical barrier so your cows can't simply walk around the connection to the fence line. The triangle section is the wing itself, and it's held up with the support post.

Pre-cast Concrete Foundations for Cattle Guard Installations

To make installation easier, we can deliver these precast concrete foundations with the guards to your job site. They have anchor bolts already set in concrete, so bolting and securing the grid to the foundation is as simple as lowering and bolting into place.

The standard sizes for the flat top rail guards are 8' x 10' x 12' and 14' single spans. They come pre-drilled so you may bolt them end-to-end for longer spans.

The round top rail guards are available in even lengths from 8 to the longest single span of 20'. They also may be bolted end-to-end for longer crossing.
